This campaign will allow volunteers at the centre to continue to offer programs identified by approximately 35,000 clients yearly
Currently the Seniors Resource Centre has moved to a new location so that we can better serve the increased number of clients using the Centre. Because of increased occupancy costs and limited budget dollars much of the support programming was needed to be scaled back. Our intent in submitting to GIVE 65 is to rebuild that support programming identified by our client base. It is hoped that we will be able to reestablish educational programs ( such as crock pot cooking, knit and crochet classes as well as offer some seminars on various subjects), recreational programs (games days, card games, movie events, relaxation therapy classes) and to offer some programming around holiday events where people living on their own are most isolated.
Our mission is to provide system navigation and advocacy for seniors, disabled and their families and act as a drop in Centre for seniors who are isolaed to offer guided peer interaction....read more
