Help us provide comfort and care to those approaching the end of their life

Description of project

Experts, caregivers and service providers from across our region have set out a vision for palliative care improvements, but there is a funding gap to making this vision a reality. This is where the OutCare Foundation can and does help. The Campaign for Comfort responds to the critical needs in our community by providing equipment funding that would otherwise not be available. Whether it's for new beds or ceiling-mounted lifts for patients, sleep chairs for family members, or wheelchairs and transfer benches for loan programs, donations to this campaign make a big difference and they are needed. Our community-based palliative care organizations are terribly underfunded. They raise funds just to be able to operate their programs, which makes it very challenging to replace or buy new equipment. This is why addressing this important gap is one of our priorities

With seniors making up the fastest growing age group in our society, the need for more palliative care is becoming urgent. If we are having difficulty keeping up with the current demand for palliative care now, which we are, imagine how much more challenging this will be as our population ages. The OutCare Foundation's Campaign for Comfort responds to these critical needs and will provide comfort and care to those approaching end-of-life.
