We are raising funds to support the opening of our new Centre for seniors.
This soon-to-be completed, purpose-built program space will provide safe, comfortable and home-like rooms for short-term overnight respite for seniors and their caregivers. In addition, it will also be the home of a new recreational day program for seniors living with a cognitive impairment such as Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
The Centre is being designed to be a bright, open and secure space with an universal design specially made and fitted to support seniors and older adults with cognitive impairments. Onsite we will have several bedrooms, a living space, kitchen, laundry and washroom facilities and space for recreational programming.
Funds raised through GIVE65 will support the start-up operations, including the purchase of appliances, furniture and equipment, for our new Centre and to help make the space feel warm, inviting, comfortable and be suitable for the special needs of seniors with cognitive impairments.
With your help, we will provide a 'home-away-from-home' - a safe and engaging place where seniors can flourish together with dignity whether it be for an overnight period in our respite program or on a regular daily basis in our recreational day program.

"I am so grateful to have found ESS and their wonderful programs. After my mother's stroke a few years back, we connected with ESS for extra support and are so grateful for the services they provide. My mother has been enjoying the recreational Adult Day Program activities for the past several years, which are always well organized and conveniently scheduled. She looks forward to the activities as the highlight of her week! I truly believe that her participation in this program has been effective towards maintaining a productive and engaging lifestyle, during her advanced age. For myself, I cannot imagine what life would look like without ESS. It is difficult balancing work, family and care for an aging parent and the support that ESS provides through its overnight respite and day programming is immeasurable. We are excited to see the new Centre and look forward to continuing our rewarding relationship with ESS!" - Anu, Caregiver
"I am very grateful for the service and the respite it has provided. It has given me some relief from care giving, opening up extra time to organize my life and complete everyday tasks such as grocery shopping. I have tremendous peace of mind knowing my mother is in a safe and caring environment, with professional and respectful staff, who provide her with quality care." - Lorraine, Caregiver
"I was desperate to find a happy place for my husband following his devastating brain injury. I had no idea that ESS would provide my husband and I with twenty-five wonderful years. During that time, I was able to work, and afford to take him back home on those frequent trips to his beloved Greece. The Adult Day Program was a very important part of his life; I saw the care and respect shown to the clients. He would always tell everyone that the people at his 'work' were the best people in the world." - Margaret, Caregiver
