Will I receive an official donation receipt?
Yes. In accordance with guidelines set forth by the Canadian Revenue Agency, the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada issues annual tax statements to all GIVE65 donors by February 28 of the calendar year that follows the year of the donation. This allows individual taxpayers to claim their donations on their annual income tax returns. How much of my donation will benefit the registered charity I choose?
Participating registered charities receive approximately 90% of the donations designated to their fundraising project. 8% is reinvested in technology, marketing, and awareness activities for GIVE65. An additional 2.2% accounts for 3rd-party credit card processing fees (currently estimated at 2.1 percent + $0.30 per online transaction.)
