GIVE65, a program of Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada, is an online, charitable giving platform aimed at inspiring greater giving to registered charities serving seniors. Will my donation be tax deductible?

How much of my donation will benefit the GIVE65 Project I choose?

GIVE65 charitable organisations participating on the GIVE65 site will receive approximately 90 per cent of the donations designated to their respective fundraising project. Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada reinvests 8 per cent of the donations received in technology, marketing and awareness activities for the GIVE65 site. An additional 2.2 per cent of each donation accounts for third-party credit card processing fees and will also be deducted from each donation. back to top

How can I make a donation?

You can make a secure, online credit card donation at GIVE65.ca by selecting the GIVE65 project you wish to support with your charitable donation and clicking "Donate" to begin the confirmation and checkout process. back to top

Is there a minimum amount I should donate?

Yes, while all donations are welcomed, the minimum amount required to donate to any featured GIVE65 project is $10 CAD. There is no maximum donation amount. back to top

Is my credit card information secure and protected?

Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada currently utilizes the services of CiviCore to provide the secure online donation platform that hosts GIVE65. CiviCore's services adhere to industry best practices to help ensure donor information is protected in a safe and secure online setting. back to top

Can I give to more than one organisation?

Yes, you are welcomed to make a donation to as many GIVE65 projects featured on the site as you wish. There is a shopping cart check out feature on the site that allows you to do this. Simply add to your cart the GIVE65 projects you choose to support and then proceed to the checkout. back to top

How were the registered charities selected for GIVE65?

Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada makes all decisions related to a charities' participation on the site through an online application process. The Foundation's Board of Directors makes all funding decisions related to matching grants and selecting the organisations fortunate to receive any matching grant funding. back to top

What are the credit card processing fees?

When you donate through the GIVE65 site, a third-party credit card processor charge fee is applied to each gift. To account for this fee, 2.2 per cent is deducted from each online donation. back to top

Can I mail in my donations or share my credit card information with someone over the phone?

No, all donations for any crowd-fundraising project featured on the GIVE65 site will only be accepted using this secure site. back to top

Can my donation be refunded?

No, a refund is not possible. Each donation is irrevocable. back to top

Can my donation be given anonymously?

Will I receive solicitations from Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada?

No, Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada has no plans to solicit the donors participating on the GIVE65 site unless the donor has given the Foundation explicit permission to do so. back to top

When will the charity receive the money raised through GIVE65?

Home Instead Senior Care Foundation of Canada will distribute any funds raised, and any matching grants and any financial rewards awarded to participating charities on either of the following dates, as applicable: August 31, for such funds raised and such matching grants and bonus grants awarded during the immediately preceding timeframe of January 1 - July 31, or January 31, for such funds raised and such matching grants and bonus grants awarded during the immediately preceding timeframe of August 1 through December 31. back to top
